The Pearl of the Osa is located on the incomparable Platanares beach a short 5 km from the town of Puerto Jimenez.  Platanares is the finest swimming beach in the entire peninsula, and the wave action makes for exciting body surfing, though rides are not quite long enough for conventional surf.  The Monochingo Bar and Grille, conveniently located downstairs from the inn rooms, offers a wide variety of great plates and drinks.  Relax for board games and ping-pong, or plan some serious hammock training.  Miles of beaches to hike.  Full range of excursions and tours available.  Easy year round access by vehicle.  Also convenient from town by bicycle.  This is a favorite beach destination for townspeople on Sunday afternoons and the Monochingo features Italian buffet and live music and salsa dancing every Friday night.
