Nestled on 150 acres, half of which is forested in original old-growth primary vegetation and about 300 meters in elevation above Carate and adjacent to Corcovado National Park, Luna Lodge boasts 8 private bungalows and several additional spacious tents set on platforms. The complex is replete with a central common room and dining area with a view that spans the forest and Carate river below as well as the Pacific Ocean coastline. An even higher yoga platform looks out over the entire world. At Luna Lodge, look forward to haute cuisine with many vegetables and spices originating for organic gardening operations located onsite. Luna Lodge boasts an extensive network of trails and a large wilderness preserve that contains two waterfalls ideal for cooling off in. A wide variety of tours make your rain forest experience comprehensive, including day tours to Corcovado, forest tours originating from Luna Lodge, horseback tours in the Carate River Valley and coastal Carate lowland plains below, kayaking at Pejeperrito Lagoon, turtle-nesting tours by the local Carate area Protection foundation, gold mining tours, and fishing.
