El Remanso Rainforest Wildlife Lodge has three standard and one deluxe private bungalow, and a three bedroom two story home located on 140 acres of nature preserve situated approximately where the spine of the peninsular coastal mountain ridge abuts with with Pacific coastline to the northwest of Cape Matapalo. Lodging is located about 200 meters in elevation, and the bungalows, house, and common dining area and bar enjoy spectacular Pacific ocean vistas. Trails extend to the primal sandy beach coastline, abandoned for kilometers in either direction. Somewhat more remote than Lapa Rios and Bosque del Cabo, El Remanso boasts a greater array and abundance of wildlife than the former two destinations. Together with spectacular landforms, waterfalls, towering hardwoods, the wildlife viewing makes El Remanso a unique tropical playground. Powered by hydroelectric energy, El Remanso serves gourmet cuisine and offers a range of activities including a canopy zip line, tree-climbing, and waterfall rapelling tours in-house. The Casa Osa is ideally suited for either families or as a working group getaway.
